A large proportion of the investments required for the transition to sustainability, particularly with regard to environmental goals, must be made at municipal level. In many European countries, however, there are no adequate funding mechanisms to support local actors.<\/p>\n
Against the backdrop of current developments in the field of sustainable finance, the project aims to develop concrete, innovative and structural solutions in a series of workshops together with relevant stakeholders. This will be done by way of example in Belgium, Germany and the Czech Republic, whereby the different national framework conditions in the EU will be taken into account as far as possible.<\/p>\n
In addition, the results from the national level will be presented and discussed with the EU Commission in order to consider recommendations for better regulation at EU and national level that support the EU’s multi-level governance system.<\/p>\n
The project is being carried out in cooperation with ICLEI Europe<\/a>, Starkmacher e.V.<\/a> as well as the International Sustainable Finance Centre (ISFC)<\/a> and is funded by the BMUV<\/a> as part of the European Environmental Initiative EURENI<\/a>.
