On 3 December, the Fair Finance Institute was invited to give a lecture on sustainable finance, nature-based solutions and biodiversity credits.
TU Dresden has been offering annual interactive full-time seminars for alumni from developing and emerging countries for a long time. In 2025, the focus is on Nature-based solution: enhancing the water-food-biodiversity nexus.
Gesa Vögele, Managing Partner at the Fair Finance Institute, presented the content and results of two workshops organised by the Fair Finance Institute in September and October this year as part of the project Opportunities and Limitations of Biodiversity Credits and Nature-based Solutions (information only available in German). This was followed by a lively discussion with participants from Brazil, Nigeria, China, Georgia and Uganda, among others. Very critical questions were raised on fundamental issues and conflicting goals, and concrete experiences and needs from specific projects and countries were reported.
Fair Finance would like to thank TU Dresden and especially CIPSEM – Centre for International Postgraduate Studies of Environmental Management for the invitation and the participants for the exciting exchange!
